ABOUT ME

Jennifer Thompson teaches poetry to youth for California Poets in the Schools (CPITS), a San Fransisco based non-profit organization. She is also a poet for 100 Thousand Poets for Change (100TP4C) a global movement for activism and social change. Recently she performed in the Poetry Circus in Los Angeles and at the 11th Annual Celebrating Words Festival Pacoima, California.

She was a special guest performer at the Globe Theater in Los Angeles for the Doo Wop Music Hall of Fame Induction Gala. Artists who attended and performed were Tony Butala, founding member of the Lettermen, Mary Wilson of the Supremes, The Angels, Claudette Robinson of the Miracles, Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis of the Fifth Dimension and Street Corner Renaissance. She’s performed for The Cities of Fontana and Pasadena.

 

In addition, she was honored to have performed in the World Peace Choir directed by John “Sly” Wilson with Sheila E. , John Reznik of the Goo Goo Dolls, Brian McKnight, Ray Charles Jr., the late great Patrick Swayze, and many other national and international artists.

 

​Currently, she’s in the studio recording a musical spoken word album with her manager and producer John “Sly” Wilson from the 70’s R&B group “Sly, Slick and Wicked” which will be released later this year. Jennifer is also completing a mini book of poetry titled “The Definition of Love” and a will release the companion musical piece, “The Definition of Love” which will be available on-line for purchase.
